Elton John‘s still standing — he just needs a little help for now after spraining his ankle.
The piano-rock legend, 72, shared on Instagram Thursday that he was recovering after suffering the leg injury. Though he didn’t say how it occurred, he did post a photo of himself wearing a tracksuit, white sneakers and his signature colorful glasses while seated in a wheelchair.
Despite his pout, John seemed to be having the time of his life given his location — The Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy —and his upbeat caption.
“Not even a sprained ankle could keep me away from seeing one of the most beautiful museums in the world,” he wrote.

The “Tiny Dancer” hitmaker is in Italy ahead of the upcoming European leg of hisFarewell Yellow Brick Roadtour, which is scheduled to commence in Vienna on May 1 and conclude on July 7 in Lucca, Italy, before he heads back to the U.S. and Canada. The tour will continue over the course of three years, comprising 300 dates total.

John wrapped the first leg of his tour in March, six months after kicking it off in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and playing a total of 77 shows.
“I want to thank everyone who bought a ticket and came to see the show,” the musiciancaptioned a video montageon March 19. “I’ve never enjoyed a tour as much as this one. You make it overwhelmingly special for me every time. ❤❤️ I can’t wait to see more of you at the European dates in May!”

The musician’s teamaddressed the cancellationson social media, writing, “We are sincerely sorry to everyone due to attend the shows in Orlando last night and Tampa tonight. Elton has been on a course of antibiotics to combat an ear infection and it was expected that these would clear the infection in time to play the Orlando show. Elton had traveled to the venue but after further consultations with doctors before he took the stage, the decision had to be taken on their advice that unfortunately he still wasn’t well enough to perform.”
The statement continued, “Elton and his bandplay 100 percent live and withimpaired hearing and ear pain he wouldn’t have been able to deliver the performance his fans deserve. He will take a couple of days rest to allow the infection to clear up and both will be rescheduled as soon as possible.”
John returned to Orlando’s Amway Center to perform on March 18, and will take the stage at the Amalie Arena in Tampa on Nov. 4 of this year.
