Emily Blunt’s got the scoop!
TheOppenheimeractress, 40, reflected on earning her first-everOscarnomination during an interview for theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast at The 92nd Street Y in N.Y.C. on Tuesday, recalling the everyday, relatable chore she had just finished doing when she heard the “magical” news.
She added that her husband and fellow actorJohn Krasinski"had a really good cry, as well" as they learned she’d nabbed a Best Supporting Actress nod for her role inOppenheimer.
“After helping me with the poop — I think he went and put it in the trash, and then we both cried,” Blunt joked.

Oppenheimerbecame the third-highest-grossing movie of 2023 and is now thehighest-grossing biopicof all time.
It also marks the first time Blunt has everstarred in a Best Picture nominee. In aninterview with PEOPLE, she equated filming on location in New Mexico to being at “summer camp.”
“We were all in the same hotel in the middle of the New Mexican desert,” she recalled in July 2023. “We only had each other.”
