Anchor Laura Rutledge Shares Health Update After Baby Son Was Airlifted to Hospital

TheESPNanchor, 35, shared an update on social media about the health status of her 7-month-old son after revealing that he suffered a health scare over the holiday season and had to receive treatment at the hospital.

In a Wednesdaypost on X(formerly known as Twitter), Rutledge thanked people for their prayers for her son and said she was “grateful for the miracle that occurred for him while also knowing so many of these stories don’t have happy endings.”

“We just received a positive report from Jack’s doctors at Connecticut Children’s. No additional surgery is required and his pain has lessened significantly,” she said.

While she did not go into details about what Jack’s condition was, she previously shared in a post on Christmas that the little boy had been “airlifted in a helicopterfrom Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC to MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston” for treatment.

In June, reps for theNFL Livestar confirmed to PEOPLE that she and her former MLB player husband hadwelcomed their second childafter 3-year-old daughter Reese.

“We are so thankful to welcome a new addition to our family,” the mom of two told PEOPLE at the time. “I never thought I’d even be able to have one child with the pressures of my career so to have two is beyond my wildest dreams.”

“It’s so special to know that we are giving our daughter Reese a sibling, especially after going through a heartbreaking miscarriage in 2021,” she added.
