Hunter Schaferwas arrested at a demonstration calling for a cease-fire in Gaza on Monday, according to reports.

TheEuphoriastar, 25, had been one of the demonstrators who showed up at 30 Rockefeller Plaza ahead of PresidentJoe Biden’s appearance onLate Night with Seth Meyers, Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), which held the demonstration, confirmed to PEOPLE.

“Hunter was arrested at the protest, along with 50 other people,” a JVP spokesperson PEOPLE in a statement. “We commend her commitment to Palestinian freedom and to a future of justice for everyone.”

Schafer could be seen in photos the organizationposted on Instagram. In one photo, the actress could be seen wearing a black shirt that said “CEASE FIRE NOW” as she held a banner that read, “The whole world is watching.”  She could also be seen sitting down while wearing a mask in front of another banner that read: “Jews to Biden: Stop Arming Genocide.”

Schafer, along with several demonstrators, could also be seen chanting things like “no more genocide,” “ceasefire” and “no more weapons, no more war” in the social media posts.

The New York Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that officers took 30 people into custody at 30 Rockefeller Center on Monday during the demonstration, and they were issued summons' for trespassing. The NYPD did not confirm if Schafer had been one of those taken into custody.

This comes as Israel has launched anassault on Gazain response to theHamasattack in Israel in October, which killed hundreds of civilians. Over 29,000 people so far have died as a result of the Israel-Hamas war and over 70,000 have been injured, the the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed toNBC News.
