On Tuesday, the famous couple stepped out together at The Chivas Regal Golden Hour Soiree at the Hotel Chelsea in New York City. Chatting with PEOPLE, Ross and Simpson Ross revealed that they tapped in the actor’s sisterTracee Ellis Ross, 51, for some aunt duties while they attended the event.
“I feel like it’s so important, because we’re parenting all the time, to have those moments alone or with our friends and have a date night is always special,” Simpson Ross, 39, tells PEOPLE.
“It’s the best. And we got the support. My sister right now is actually, Tracee is doing our daughter’s class,” Ross, 35, shares. “She’s reading a book.”

“I was supposed to read for her class today, but we came here and Tracee took over and Jagger was so happy,” the mom of three says.
“She’s a good auntie,” Ross adds. “I was like, there’s an auntie award right there. Best auntie,” Simpson Ross agrees.
Earlier this month, the couple revealed to PEOPLE whether theywould consider growing their family.
The couple is already parents to sonZiggy Blu, 3, and daughterJagger Snow, 7. Simpson Ross also shares son Bronx Mowgli, 15, with ex-husbandPete Wentz.
“We’ll see, but I think so,” Ross first responded when asked if the couple was done with having kids. “You never know.”
“He’s open. I’m more like, ‘Eh, I’m about to turn 40,’ " Simpson Ross added. “But hey, never say never! I feel like once you get a kid in kindergarten, you’re like, ‘Am I done?’ We’ll always leave the door open.”
